The
One Voice Nigeria advocacy group came fully prepared for the highly
publicized nationwide protest despite the setback suffered by the
shocking exit of legendary singer, Innocent Idibia.
The nationwide protest today, 6th of February, 2017 had some unique
protest signs designed by well-meaning Nigerians to drive home their
views against the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration under
the banner of the All Progressives Congress of 'change'.
Well-designed and crafted placards were displayed by the teeming
protesters across Lagos and Abuja. The name of Innocent 'Tuface' Idibia
who was initially billed to spearhead the movement was veiled on the
placards since he bowed out due to alleged pressure from security
operatives.
The placards were designed in mostly green and white colours in
representation of the Nigerian flags while colour red was also included
in some placards for the purpose of emphasis.
According to reports gathered from the field, it was a successful
outing for the One Voice Nigeria civil society as their peaceful
activities devoid of casualties enjoyed adequate media coverage in both
major cities.
